Trust
“Can I trust them?”
How many times have we asked ourselves this? Of friends, lovers, family, strangers…
And yet I believe it is only a distraction from the real question, which is: “Can I trust myself?”
It’s never really about them, you see.
Trusting yourself is connecting with what is present in YOU in the moment.
Don’t place your trust in something out there… place it in you.
Trust your instincts.
Trust your intuition.
Trust your heart.
Trust the divine guidance within you.
Trust when something feels right.
Trust when something feels off.
Trust that no matter what happens you will have your back. You will figure it out. You will make it through.
Things out there change, move, transform. We have no control over that. And every time we externalise our trust, we give away our power and we will be disappointed in some way, shape or form.
But when we place it inside, we’re directing it to something that we can never lose. Ourselves.
And yet, often our relationship with ourselves is the most neglected.
From constantly abandoning ourselves.
From betraying ourselves.
From losing ourselves not to lose another.
From breaking promises we make to ourselves.
Would you trust someone that behaved like that? Fck no.
No wonder often a lot of repairing is required.
And yet, if we’re willing to, this has the power of changing everything.
You earn back your trust by being honest with yourself,
by taking responsibility for your life and wellbeing,
by treating promises to yourself as non-negotiable,
by respecting yourself and honouring your needs,
by treating your no’s and yes’s as sacred.
Come back to you, my love, again and again.
