Sound Healing
Sound is one of my favourite tools to use in client sessions.
I remember my mum telling me when I was a little girl that the future of healing was sound (she’s a very cool mum and an acupuncturist, so she gets it).
Guess it’s no wonder I’ve always been attracted to mantras, beautiful bowls, gongs, drums, and kirtans.
For many years I was a sound /gong bath junkie 😂🎶
Although I first trained in sound healing over 5 years ago, I ended up only using it for myself.
For the last couple of years, however, I’ve been feeling sound calling me to introduce it more into my work with women.
We are, after all, sound / vibrational beings…
The entire universe (seen, unseen, physical, mental), is made up of vibrations.
Everything around and inside of us (our bodies, organs, tissues, and cells) is constantly vibrating and creating a unique sound.
We’re ceaselessly resonating and reacting to the sounds we’re exposed to. Consciously and unconsciously.
The music we constantly listen to, words we utter to ourselves and others, conversations we’re surrounded by, environments we move in… they all deeply impact how we feel and behave.
It’s no wonder that by using sound with a clear healing intention, we’re able to have very profound effects in the mind, body and energy.
Sound healing, by the way, is not just shiny crystal paraphernalia.
It starts with your own voice.
Most women hold a lot of trauma and contraction around using their voices.
They’ve been taught to be quiet. Speak softly. To hold our tongues.
A big part of my work is helping them release all that programming, so they can claim back their voice’s full range and expression.
To allow themselves to sigh loudly. Moan. Scream. Laugh. Say NO. Weep. Sing. Express their needs.
Whether you hum or sing while you’re folding the laundry, I invite you to allow yourself to explore the life-changing power of your own pure sound. ♥️
“If you want the truth,
I’ll tell you the truth:
Listen to the secret sound,
the real sound,
which is inside you.”
