It’s also not being “fearless” or never having doubts.⁣⁣⁣

Think about your first day at your current job… things probably felt foreign and unfamiliar, maybe you even felt a bit lost and intimidated. ⁣

And yet, with courage and repetition a role that initially felt scary is probably second nature for you now. ⁣⁣⁣

Courage is the essential energy that helps us expand beyond our comfort zone and develop confidence in new areas. Because OF COURSE fear will come up when we take a step into the unknown (fear is designed to keep us safe, so it’s just doing its job!). ⁣

It’s 100% normal a part of us will want to give up before risking failure/ judgment/ criticism/ embarrassment/ pain/ discomfort. ⁣⁣⁣

Cue courage, ready to give us the strength we need to take that brave step (instead of running away while making excuses and contracting in fear).⁣⁣⁣

Often clients believe that confidence implies the absence of fear and yet I find as long as we’re human and willing to grow - fear will be a teammate. ⁣

So instead of fearing fear or allowing fear to define what we are able to do/not do, we can lean into courage by remembering why it’s important to us to develop that confidence and ultimately claim our freedom.⁣⁣⁣

The good news is that, just like a muscle, we get better and stronger with practice.⁣⁣⁣

What if instead of impatiently wanting to be 100% confident, we focused on being courageous and practicing, moment to moment?⁣⁣⁣
