Bye bye 2020

As we close 2020 with a sigh, I’m in awe of what a paradigm-shifting year has been.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
We were all touched by it. We’re completely different people to who we were a year ago.
⁣⁣⁣⁣
This year for me, epitomised the fact that this is an Earth School... and the lessons this year were the hard ones. They cut through illusions of certainty & control. They blew away anything that wasn’t true. They reminded us of what is really important. They brought up the deeper questions. They invited us to face the uncomfortable aspects of ourselves we could have happily distracted ourselves from our whole lives.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
This year made us go through situations we would’ve thought ourselves unable to survive. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
And yet here we are. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
The measure we’re willing to integrate and accept the hardest realities and the darkest parts of ourselves is what gives us depth, compassion, strength, resilience and wholeness. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Imagine what’s possible when we truly embrace who we are and all the colours and multitudes we contain (thank you, Whitman), when we make peace with the fact that any notion of control is and will always be an illusion our mind conjures to create a sense of safety. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Imagine what’s possible when we’re no longer afraid to look at ourselves straight in the eye with all that we are, and we can meet life exactly as it is... no false ideas, no romantic dilutions... just as it is.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Wouldn’t that make us truly alive? Open to engage with what IS (rather than what we *think* life is or what we *want* it to be)? Available to experience the richness and fullness of everything life offers?⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
For many, the medicine of this year was hard to swallow (me def included!). But if I know anything about the human spirit, is that we’re here at this moment in time precisely to take that medicine. Because we know behind it, all there is and will always be is love. Freedom. Liberation.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
So I arrive at 2021 more humble, vulnerable, and in awe of life. Knowing I know oh so little, but I’m in the safest of hands if I just... trust and let go.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Loving you, always.

Happy New Year.

Jxx
