You are a creator

I’ve been obsessed with beauty and art for as long as I can remember… ⁣

however, growing up I always saw myself as an admirer of art, rather than as an active participant.⁣

I used to think that only *some* people were truly creative.⁣

As if they belonged to a unique human species that had been born with special superpowers. ⁣

That select group would include the likes of Van Gogh, Virginia Woolf, Le Corbusier, Georgia O’Keefe.⁣

I’d put inspiring people on pedestals as if they had this gift none the rest of us, mere mortals, had. ⁣

I built a separation between creative people and… others. Me being part of the latter.⁣

It took some years till I had a full body epiphany that I AM a creator.⁣

We all are. ⁣

We have been since before even being born. ⁣

We are the actual walking, talking manifestation of CREATIVITY (we were all 2 lil cells that became this complex human - if that’s not the ultimate manifestation of creativity I dunno what is).⁣

Life force, after all, IS creative force. Constantly birthing everything in this universe. ⁣

Simply having that flow of energy in your body makes you a creator. (Congratulations! You’re it!) ⁣

… Whether we allow that flow to move through us freely or not, that’s another story… ⁣

Creativity manifests in all sizes, shapes and forms: romantic novels, yoga retreats, the spatula you used to cook breakfast this morning, relationships, instagram captions, wedding toasts, home-cooked chicken soup, etc. ⁣

We are immersed in creativity. Within and without.⁣

Every moment we create with our words. ⁣
With our intentions. ⁣
With our thoughts. ⁣
With our imagination.⁣
With our actions. ⁣
With our decisions.⁣
…consciously or unconsciously.⁣

We are, after all, the creators of our reality. ⁣

Even though many times we would rather relinquish our creative power in order to not take responsibility for our creation.⁣

Yet, whether you are willing to consciously step into that realisation or not: you are, and will always be, the master creator of your own life. ⁣

You get to choose if you will reluctantly and half-heartedly paint every brush stroke or consciously decide to make it your masterpiece.
