Coming back to our bodies

A BIG part of my work supporting women is helping them come back home to their bodies.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
So many of us grew up being told:⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
there’s something wrong with the way our bodies look (too fat, too skinny, too curvy, not curvy enough).⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
our cycles, pleasure and sexuality are to be ashamed of (especially if, like me, you grew up in a Catholic society)⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
In other words, the body is NOT to be trusted.⁣
⁣⁣⁣
It’s to be controlled.⁣

… and kept to industry standards for optimum approval and celebration.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
And so, our minds are given control OVER our bodies as we disconnect from our hearts, guts, intuitions and wombs.⁣⁣⁣

The mind was never design for such a task, so it’s no wonder we literally feel in our bones something is not quite right. ⁣
⁣⁣⁣
I’ve seen incredible transformations happen when clients suddenly realise their bodies never betrayed them. They have always been on their side, no matter how much they’ve resented them, pushed them, and abused them.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Truth is, the body is the oracle so many of us have been looking for in all the wrong places. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Guidance, wisdom, and answers can all be found IN the body, if we are present enough to listen. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
The body has an honesty, clarity and depth that cannot be found in the mind, no matter how hard we try. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
This is especially true for women, who contain so much ancient wisdom embedded in their being, waiting to be discovered. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Mother Nature and our bodies intimately mirror each other.⁣⁣ We are an extension of Her after all.⁣
⁣⁣⁣
When we deny our own personal bit of Earth, we deny our connection to the Mother and her sacredness as well. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
We shut down the life-force, richness, and creativity that is our birthright.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Taking the time to understand her language, honour her ever-changing needs, learn her soft rhythms, cultivate patience, recognise her as my teacher of both my humanity and my divinity has been one of the biggest gifts in my life. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Connecting to her is a daily practice that brings me back to what’s real. What’s here and alive in the present moment. What ebbs & flows… and what always stays the same.⁣⁣
