Homage to my birth land
As the countdown to my birthday begins, I felt called to pay homage to the land that welcomed me earth-side when I was born: Switzerland.
An early December morning, as the sun was rising, I took my first inhale infused by the crisp mountain air.
Outside the window laid a landscape of snowed alps rising like cathedrals, with water laying at their feet.
I’m forever grateful that during my first 5 years this land cradled and nourished me with such magnificence.
Experiencing that beauty stirs the heart in such a way that one can hardly help aspiring to be a poet, artist or musician as an attempt to somehow capture it.
They say the place you are conceived/born in lays a blueprint you carry for the rest of your life.
Whether that is true or not, I’m grateful to always carry within me a landscape I can return to in reverence to fill myself with indescribable awe and wonder.
